MedEdQuest is committed to bridging the healthcare gap in underserved communities. We offer medical education opportunities specifically designed for aspiring medical students. Through our program, we aim to cultivate a cadre of healthcare professionals passionate about serving vulnerable populations. MedEdQuest strives to empower medical students, providing them with the skills and cultural competence needed to make a meaningful impact in addressing healthcare disparities and improving the quality of care for underserved populations in Costa Rica.

We are combining valuable clinical exposure through helping underserved communities in Costa Rica.
Although Costa Rica boasts a robust primary healthcare system, it still faces numerous challenges as some communities have limited access to healthcare.

Volunteers must be either a student in training at pre-med school or a fully qualified medical professional

Volunteers must be over 18+ years old

Volunteers must be proficient in English as a prerequisite, and knowledge of any additional language would be considered an advantage.

Itinerary
Travel plan for Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

Upon your arrival at San Jose International Airport in Costa Rica, a MedEdQuest representative will be there to welcome you. Following this, we will provide private transportation to a nearby hotel for a day of rest before your journey to Santa Teresa.

Our day will commence with a group breakfast, followed by an informative introduction to the trip led by our primary doctor. A comprehensive discussion on the healthcare system in Costa Rica will follow, providing valuable insights. Subsequently, a private transfer will be arranged to escort you to Mal Pais, incorporating a scenic ferry journey departing from Puntarenas.

You will arrive at your accommodation, situated in close proximity to the pristine beach, you will receive a detailed itinerary outlining the volunteering commitments for each day.
Your package encompasses daily meals, transportation, and accommodation for a comprehensive experience.
Transportation will be arranged for your daily pick ups and drops offs.

As our medical service trip in Costa Rica concludes, a final ceremony in San Jose will highlight the significant achievements of our team. From delivering essential healthcare services to contributing to community well-being, our impactful endeavors will be acknowledged.
